Inclusion and exclusion. The role of the Romanian Roma music in the international relations

Resum: The author of this article emphasizes the category of musician roma since the very first historical records mentioning them. The musician job is presented as a basic profession. Roma musicians have been and currently still are representative for their originating ethnicity. Over time, they have succeeded in turning this profession into an element of ethnic identity and pride. This is argued by the presence of the musician roma around all social categories, classes and among all the populations they came into contact with. From this perspective, it is very interesting to approach the aspects related to the evolution of history, economy and demography specific to this roma category standing out throughout history.

Resum: Síntesi d’un informe de recerca que ha desenvolupat dos objectius: en primer lloc, l’exploració de trajectòries migratòries de les famílies d’origen romanès que actualment resideixen al territori de Catalunya, i en segon lloc, la reconstrucció de les circumstàncies i condicions d’integració social de la societat receptora cap a ells en alguns municipis catalans, amb especial èmfasi en la integració socioeducativa dels fills i filles de les famílies immigrants d’origen romanès a l’escola catalana. Es presenten els resultats d’aquest abordatge exploratori de tipus quantitatiu i etnogràfic, des d’una perspectiva comparativa origen- destinació. El text finalitza amb una presentació de nous interrogants d’investigació per a futures etapes de la mateixa.


Right to Remember – A Handbook for Education with Young People on the Roma Genocide (Second edition) (2017)

Resum: The second edition of Right to Remember incorporates some small revisions into the original publication. Since it was first published (in 2014), Right to Remember has been widely used, by both Roma and non-Roma youth groups. The response has been almost overwhelmingly positive, but inevitably there have been some suggestions for clarification, amendments, or inclusion of additional material. Certain groups or individuals working on the Roma Genocide have also been kind enough to respond to a call for feedback on the publication.


Right to Remember is a self-contained educational resource for all those wishing to promote a deeper awareness of the Roma Genocide and combat discrimination. The handbook is based on the principles of human rights education, and places remembrance as an aspect of learning about, through and for human rights.
